Svitlo is a US-based non-profit bringing information transparency and resource coordination to the Ukrainian refugee resettlement effort across a complex landscape of government and nonprofit organizations.

Svitlo occupies a unique and vital niche in identifying, researching, and centralizing important information about benefits, housing, job search, and other services Ukrainians need to make a new life in the US. Because the US government operates in a decentralized way, each state has its own set of rules, processes, and relief organizations. Our goal is to provide Ukrainians with accurate, relevant, and timely information they can use to access the services available to them. 

Job Description

Svitlo is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Product to lead the delivery of our digital products, including the Svitlo website and AI chatbot. As a founding member of our product team, you will be working closely with our leadership team, including Executive Directors, CTO, Head of Content, and Head of Marketing. Together you will shape the strategic direction of our organization, automate information gathering, and ensure the delivery of high-quality digital products that bring information transparency and resource coordination to the Ukrainian refugee resettlement effort.

Time Commitment

• This is a volunteer role for now, with an expected time commitment of 15-20 hours per week. Flexibility in working hours is available to accommodate other commitments.

Responsibilities

• Product Strategy and Vision

• Develop a compelling product strategy and vision that aligns with Svitlo's mission and goals.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize product initiatives based on user research and organizational objectives.

• Continuously monitor industry trends, user feedback, and competitor offerings to inform product strategy.

• Product Development and Management

• Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, including ideation, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and launch.

• Drive the creation of innovative digital products, tools, and services that facilitate information transparency and resource coordination.

• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure timely and successful product delivery.

• Use data-driven insights to measure product performance, identify areas for improvement, and iterate on product features.

• Team Leadership

• Recruit, manage, and mentor a team of volunteers and interns.

• Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing.

• Provide guidance and support to the product team, ensuring their professional growth and development.

• Stakeholder Collaboration

• Build strong relationships, ensure trustworthy information, and promote data-sharing with government agencies, nonprofits, and refugee support organizations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Business Administration, etc.).

• Proven experience (5+ years) in product management leadership

• Demonstrated track record of successfully launching and managing digital products from ideation to launch.

• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and agile development methodologies.

• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

• Passion for Svitlo's mission and a genuine interest in supporting Ukrainian refugees.

Preferred

• Experience in working with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies and nonprofit organizations.

• Ukrainian or Russian speaker.
