Svitlo is a US-based non-profit bringing information transparency and resource coordination to the Ukrainian refugee resettlement effort across a complex landscape of government and nonprofit organizations.
Svitlo occupies a unique and vital niche in identifying, researching, and centralizing important information about benefits, housing, job search, and other services Ukrainians need to make a new life in the US. Because the US government operates in a decentralized way, each state has its own set of rules, processes, and relief organizations. Our goal is to provide Ukrainians with accurate, relevant, and timely information they can use to access the services available to them.
About the Role
Svitlo is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Web Developer to join our team. This role will play an integral part in our ongoing efforts to maintain and enhance our website with the latest information. Collaborating closely with our Technical Lead, the successful candidate will be responsible for a range of tasks, such as developing new pages on SquareSpace, incorporating fresh content into existing pages, ensuring SEO compliance, and managing translations using WeGlot.

Time Commitment
Currently, this role is a volunteer position, requiring an anticipated commitment of approximately 10-15 hours per week. We understand the importance of flexibility and are open to accommodating your other commitments by offering flexible working hours.
Responsibilities
Develop new pages on SquareSpace consistent with the existing design.
Update existing pages with new information produced by our content team.
Update content translations through Weglot.
Support the website's SEO, consistent with the guidelines set by our marketing team.
Requirements
Solid knowledge of HTML and CSS.
Familiarity with WeGlot.
Experience with Squarespace is preferable.
Knowledge of JavaScript is a plus.
Familiarity with SEO best practices and implementation techniques.
Strong understanding of responsive web design principles to ensure optimal user experience across various devices and screen sizes.
Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving web development issues.
